Emirates SkyCargo welcomes first Boeing 777-300ERSF converted freighter to fleet
New aircraft adds greater capacity for high-volume cargo shipments
DUBAI – Emirates SkyCargo has marked a major milestone in its fleet expansion by becoming the first airline cargo carrier to deploy the Boeing 777-300ERSF passenger-to-freighter converted aircraft.
The aircraft, registered A6-EBK, has entered commercial service with a flight from Hong Kong to Dubai carrying more than 100 tonnes of cargo.
The arrival of the converted aircraft strengthens Emirates SkyCargo’s growing freighter fleet as the carrier continues expanding its capacity and global cargo network. The Boeing 777-300ERSF joins the fleet as the sixth new freighter aircraft inducted into Emirates SkyCargo’s operations since March 2026.
Cargo capacity
The converted Emirates Boeing 777-300ERSF offers a payload capacity of 100 tonnes and a cargo volume of 811 cubic metres, providing a 25% increase in cargo volume compared with the Boeing 777-F production freighter.
With 47 pallet positions, the aircraft can accommodate 10 additional pallet positions compared with the production freighter, making it suited for transporting high-volume shipments such as e-commerce goods. These shipments currently account for around 20% of global air cargo tonnage, with further growth expected in the coming years.
Badr Abbas, Emirates SkyCargo’s Divisional Senior Vice President, said the introduction of the first converted Boeing 777-300ERSF represents the next stage in the carrier’s fleet growth and operational flexibility.
The aircraft conversion programme allows Emirates SkyCargo to optimise its existing Boeing 777-300ER passenger fleet while responding to increasing demand for air cargo capacity and faster global movement of goods.

Emirates SkyCargo has expanded its freighter network from just over 40 destinations in February 2026 to 62 destinations currently, supported by the addition of new aircraft and increased operational capability.
The carrier’s growing fleet of Boeing 777-F production freighters, alongside the newly introduced converted aircraft, is designed to provide customers with flexible cargo capacity and connectivity through its Dubai hub.
The airline is continuing its ambitious fleet expansion programme, with plans to receive five additional Boeing 777-F production freighters and one more converted Boeing 777-300ERSF by December 2026.
Future expansion
In 2027, Emirates SkyCargo will add three more converted Boeing 777-300ERSF aircraft to its fleet, further increasing its ability to connect businesses and trade routes across its global network.
The expansion supports Emirates SkyCargo’s wider strategy to strengthen links between key production hubs and destinations across six continents, providing increased capacity for international cargo movement.
